Household OS
Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 22, 2025
Household OS ("we", "us") helps households organize productivity, finance, and shared life data. This policy describes how we handle personal information, including data obtained through Plaid when you choose to link a financial institution.
Information we collect
- Account information you provide (name, email, household membership)
- Financial account data you authorize through Plaid Link, such as balances, transactions, identity fields, investments, liabilities, and ACH account details
- Product usage data needed to operate and secure the service
How we use Plaid data
We use Plaid-derived data only to provide household finance features you request — for example ledger views, budgeting context, and account summaries inside your household. We do not sell Plaid consumer data. Access tokens that allow us to retrieve Plaid data are stored server-side, associated with the user who linked the account, and are never exposed to other household members through the client API.
You may disconnect a linked institution at any time from Finance → Ledger. Disconnecting calls Plaid /item/remove and deletes Plaid-derived data we store for that Item.
Your choices and consent
Before opening Plaid Link, we present a connection notice and ask you to confirm that you agree to this Privacy Policy and Plaid's End User Privacy Policy.
Data retention
We retain Plaid-derived consumer data only while you maintain an active link or while we have a legitimate business need to provide the feature. When you disconnect, when you are removed from a household, or when Plaid notifies us that access was revoked, we delete the associated consumer data from our systems.
